Suomipassi -application register

3. The purpose for personal data processing

Suomipassi -application uses personal data mainly to authenticate users.
Personal data may be used for the following purposes:

  • Registering students to the system
  • Authenticating students in the application
  • Track the progress of individual students in order to give them credits for their achievements

4. Legal basis of processing

A consent of the registered.

5. Data content of the register

Persons whose data can be processed are: application users.
The following information may be stored in the register:

  • Registered users: name, default language (of the application), e-mail address and student number
  • Application usage: phrase status, time and location of the user

6. Origin of data content

Personal data is obtained primarily from the data subjects themselves.
Personal data may also be collected when using application:

  • Contact information is created when user registers through application or logs in with Google or Facebook account.
  • Location information is created when user marks phrases to ‘done’ -state while using application.

7. Personal data retention period

Personal data will be deleted on request or when user selects “Remove user account” from applications user menu and confirms removal.

8. Transfers of personal data

Personal data will not be transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
Personal data will not be handed over for third parties.

9. Publicity

All personal data saved to the system is not for publication.

10. Data subject’s rights

The Registered has these rights related to personal data stored through the Suomipassi application:

  • Right to inspect personal data relating to the Registered
  • Right to erase personal data
  • Right to restrict processing of personal data
  • Right to oppose processing of personal data
  • Right to make complaint to regulatory authority
  • In the above cases, the connection is made to the registry contact person

11. Data protection methods

The use of systems containing personal data is restricted to Suomipassi servers administrators. These persons receive regular training related to data protection, and data protection arrangements are audited regularly. Teachers can see students name, email address, student number and following phrase related information: status, location and time. The data is stored in servers and databases, which are protected by firewalls, passwords and other technical means.
